He showed the rest of the world that sub-Saharan Africa is advanced and powerful. The world north of Africa probably thought that they were tribal people speaking only Swahili before Mansa Musa came. He affected the world in many ways, both good and bad. For example, Mansa Musa showed off the power and achievements of the Mali empire, but he sent Cairo’s economy into deep inflation and it wasn’t fixed for 12 years.
Mansa Musa also helped Mali to become the center of education, trade, and art. Mansa Musa brought a great deal of culture to the main cities of his empire. He also constructed the Djinguereber Mosque, which is still standing to this day! All in all, Mansa Musa brought great power to the Malian society.
